What is a "Function Capacity Evaluation"?
A functional capacity evaluation (FCE) is a diagnostic tool used to measure a patient's functional capabilities for return-to-work. This evaluation helps the therapist determine what type of therapy the patient will need, or if any at all.
What is its purpose?
An FCE assesses the patient's physical capabilities and functional strengths related to the physcial demand of the patient's given career. An FCE can also assess the patient's level of disability as rated for retirement purposes.
How can I get an FCE?
A functional capacity evalution is normally referral based by either your physician/doctor or workers compensation carrier.
